Mir Azizi

Mir Azizi graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1977 with a geotechnical engineering focus. In 1978 he finished his Master of Science in Civil Engineering specializing in geotechnical engineering. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and is a licensed Professional Engineer. While attending the University Mir Azizi was also a member of the Chi Epsilon Fraternity, which is the National Honor Society for Engineers.

After obtaining his Bachelor degree he worked for a national company, HLA and Associates, specializing in geotechnical and environmental engineering and design practices. In July 1984, he incorporated his first company (CCI) specializing in geotechnical and environmental field instrumentations and drilling business. CCI developed into a regional company with branches in Dallas, Baton Rouge, LA and a satellite office in Little Rock, Arkansas. In the late 1980’s he purchased majority shares of a competing company (Enviro Drill) with offices in Houston and San Antonio, Tx.

In 1988, Enviro Drill was sold to a publically traded company, Layne. Subsequent to that sale, desiring to exit this field, in late 1989 and early 1990s, CCI was sold to Alliance, an Ohio company looking to expand nationally by acquiring smaller regional firms. Entering the Houston residential market at a time that the US economy was at the tail end of the 1980’s recession was challenging. With high gas prices and more cost conscience population,  Houston residential market was experiencing reverse migration to CBD by empty nesters and young professional and DINKS. New urbanism was the buzz word of that area. Mir’s newly formed company “Caspian Homes” started in Rice Military, and subsequently moved to Midtown, and East Downtown, Houston.

Mainly through Caspian, and under more than 20 different company names, we developed land, built town homes, condominiums, custom homes, multi-family homes, and redeveloped, renovated a number of historic structures all in and around downtown Houston, Texas.

Mir Azizi is also on the Board of Directors of a number of small companies in Texas.
